The Indian national football team are nicknamed The Blue Tigers. They were once considered amongst the best teams in Asia, during the 1950s and early 60s. During this period, they won gold at the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962 and placed fourth at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. After decades in the doldrums, the team has undergone a steady albeit slow revival in recent years. The Blue Tigers are currently at 105 in the FIFA World Rankings.
